Curved Corten Steel Pathway and Reclaimed Stone Wall

The main feature of this design was a bespoke curved Corten steel pathway that glides through the landscape connecting the main house to the rest of the garden. Corten steel always looks good once it's matured, with its natural rusted ochre surface.

We complemented the curve of the pathway by building a reclaimed sandstone block wall with a similar arc. The blocks were recovered from the grounds of the property. Having not been part of a wall for hundreds of years it felt right putting them to good use again, moss and all, holding back a new raised planting bed.

The Corten steel also made for an ideal material to border a new planting scheme around the existing patio. A wide range of pollinator friendly plants have really filled in the space since we planted them. The 70m or so of native hedging and deciduous trees have also rooted in well providing habitat and screening for the property.
