high end materials for a full garden makeover
This garden belongs to a grand Victorian end-of-terrace property, where restricted access and multiple existing levels and tiers made for a challenging build from the start.
The whole garden was designed by us at NatureScaping following in-depth consultations with the clients, with the aim of creating a high-quality, contemporary space that still felt sympathetic to the property.
We used some brilliant materials throughout, including Italian porcelain from London Stone, finished with hand-cut anthracite picture framing around the patios. Millboard decking creates another usable area within the garden and is an ideal alternative to timber or composite decks, alongside a wood-fired hot tub imported from Sweden.
A lot of work also went into dealing with the different levels. Retaining walls were extended or replaced with a mixture of rendered blockwork and vertically laid sleepers, with lighting built into the timber and elsewhere around the garden. New fencing, gates and decorative panels from Charles & Ivy were then used to finish off the boundaries and add a bit more detail and privacy.
The softer landscaping was just as important. We laid new high-quality turf and put together a full low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly planting scheme to soften all the hard landscaping and bring plenty of colour and wildlife into the garden as it matures.
